Checking alignment of Norton crankshaft vs mainshaft by placing a straightedge across the engine sprocket and clutch hub.
Closeup of the alignment check shows either the engine is twisted to the left, or gearbox is twisted to the right.
Checking the clutch hub relative to engine mounting plates. A right angle magnet against the cradle, and a combination square from that to the clutch hub. Gearbox is twisted slightly to the right, the wrong direction to account for engine to mainshaft misalignment.
Using the same method, checking engine sprocket relative to engine cradle plates. Engine is twisted to the left.
WTF happened here? I guess I shudda paid attention to those clicka-clicka noises...
Lower rear mounting boss is creacked, and most of them are elongated.
